Visa Services & Requirements

General Application Process

All visa applicants (except for certain Diplomatic categories) must follow these two steps:

  1. Online Application: Visit the Nigeria Immigration Portal to complete the form, select your specific visa category, and make the required payment.
  2. Book an Appointment: After payment, you must book an interview/biometric session at the Embassy in Vilnius via our Official Appointment Link.

Short Stay Visas

Business Visa


Issued to travelers visiting for meetings, conferences, trade fairs, contract negotiations, marketing, NGO work, or musical concerts.


Visa Requirements


  • Invitation Letter: From the inviting person or company in Nigeria, stating full acceptance of immigration responsibilities.

  • Inviter’s ID: Copy of the inviter’s International Passport data page. For companies, a copy of the signatory's ID is required.

  • Corporate Documents: Copy of the Nigerian company’s Certificate of Incorporation.

  • Financial Proof: Recent 3-month bank statement showing sufficient funds.

  • Travel Logistics: Flight itinerary (round trip) and Hotel Reservation.

  • Health & Security: Valid Travel Insurance and Yellow Fever Vaccination Card/Medical Certificate.

  • Passport: Minimum 6 months validity with at least 2 blank pages.

  • Passport Data page - Passport data page of the inviting person.

  • Data page & Other Documents Applicants must send their data page alongside other documents.

  • Photos: Two (2) recent passport-sized photographs.

Visiting & Tourism Visa


Issued to travellers visiting family, friends, or exploring Nigeria as a tourist.


Visa Requirements


  • Formal Application: A letter stating the purpose of the visit OR an invitation letter from a host in Nigeria accepting full immigration responsibility.

  • Accommodation: Hotel reservation or a verifiable address provided by the host.

  • Financial Proof: Recent 3-month bank statement.

  • Travel Logistics: Round-trip flight itinerary.

  • Health & Security: Valid Travel Insurance and Yellow Fever Vaccination Card.

  • Passport: Minimum 6 months validity with at least 2 blank pages.

  • Passport Data page - Passport data page of the inviting person.

  • Data page & Other Documents Applicants must send their data page alongside other documents.

  • Photos: Two (2) recent passport-sized photographs.

Transit Visa


Issued to travellers passing through Nigeria to an onward destination (Transit visas are not required for citizens from the Economic Community of West African Countries (ECOWAS)).


Visa Requirements


  • Evidence of Transit: A formal letter explaining the transit route and timeframe, plus the flight itinerary for the onward journey.

  • Health & Security: Valid Travel Insurance and Yellow Fever Vaccination Card.

  • Passport: Minimum 6 months validity with at least 2 blank pages.

  • Passport Data page - Passport data page of the inviting person.

  • Data page & Other Documents Applicants must send their data page alongside other documents.

  • Photos: Two (2) recent passport-sized photographs.

Official & Diplomatic Visas


Issued to Heads of State, Government Officials, Accredited Diplomats, and UN/International Agency staff.


Visa Requirements


  • Note Verbale: Required from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the applicant's home country or the relevant International Organisation.

  • Passport: Diplomatic or Official passport (Standard passports accepted for dependents of diplomats). Minimum 6 months validity.

  • Passport Data page - Passport data page of the inviting person.

  • Data page & Other Documents Applicants must send their data page alongside other documents.

  • Photos: Two (2) recent passport-sized photographs.

  • Payment Note:
    Diplomatic and Official Passport Holders must complete the online form at immigration.gov.ng without making payment (gratis).

  • Employees without Diplomatic Passports: Must complete the form and make the necessary payment online.


Employment & Long-Stay Visas

Temporary Work Permit (F8A)


Applicant must ensure that their inviting company has secured an appointment with the Embassy via the Nigeria Immigration Service in Abuja


Visa Requirements


  • Process: The inviting company applies on the applicant's behalf in Nigeria.

  • Action: Once instructed by the employer/inviter, the applicant must book an appointment at the Embassy for biometric acquisition.

  • Passport Data page - Passport data page of the inviting person.

  • Data page & Other Documents Applicants must send their data page alongside other documents.

Subject to Regularization (R1A – R2E / CERPAC)


Issued to long-term residence and employment in Nigeria.


Visa Requirements


  • Process: Employer/inviting companies in Nigeria are expected to initiate this application on behalf of the staff member.

  • Action: Applicants must visit the Embassy for biometrics only after receiving confirmation/advice from their employer or the Nigeria Immigration Service.

  • Data page & Other Documents Applicants must send their data page alongside other documents.

Official & Diplomatic Visas

Mandatory Notice for All Visa Applicants

Appointment Policy
No walk-ins are permitted. Every applicant must have a confirmed appointment from the Embassy Booking Portal.

ECOWAS Exception
Nationals of ECOWAS member states do not require a visa to enter Nigeria.

Completeness
Ensure all documents are uploaded to the NIS portal, and physical copies are brought to the Embassy for your appointment. Missing documents may result in the rejection of your application.
